What's the reason behind recording artists making more money than music producers in the music industry?

It all comes to the sources of income in regards to the difference between how songwriters make money in the music business and how music producers make money in the music industry.

Recording artists can go on a world tour and get paid millions of dollars but many music producers can't go that unless they are in the lane of being DJs too. For example, EDM artists are partly music producers and partly DJs which gives them the ability to perform live.

You are right except in general recording artists are more likely to have more fame and more endorsements compared to your average record producer.

The thing is that you have got music producers who don't know how to network in the music business.

So as a result they fail to get high paying placements to major recording artists who have millions of fans across the globe.

I concur and having a great personality helps too otherwise people can be thrown off when approached by rude record producers.
