Relationships usually end how they start just like the saying "how you get them is how you lose them."

So the main issue is how these modern relationships start which also makes relationships in today's society run for a short course of time before it's all over.

I disagree with you on the part that men who ask their wives not to work are misogynistic and chauvinistic. That's being judgmental and generalizing.

There are a lot of reasons some men may ask their wives not to work. There are also some reasons, some women may choose not to work. Everyone should stick with what best works for them.
