Atomfall hits two million players on Game Pass

Atomfall reached over two million players within one month, exceeding Rebellion's expectations. According to CEO Jason Kingsley, Xbox Game Pass helped the game find success. Microsoft brought valuable skills that benefited the smaller project. Both companies gained advantages from their partnership. The subscription service allowed many people to try the game.

Players who enjoyed Atomfall told friends about it on social media. Some friends already had Game Pass access, and others purchased the game to join conversations about it. Rebellion believes discovery remains its biggest challenge as a company. Game Pass solved this problem for Atomfall through increased visibility among players.

The deal guaranteed Rebellion certain income regardless of sales figures. This arrangement reduced financial risks for the developer. Some Xbox sales might decrease since hardcore gamers already play through Game Pass. Kingsley admits this effect exists but considers it minor. The benefits outweigh these small losses, according to Rebellion leadership.
