BNP's Ahmed faults Awami League for dividing Bangladesh in Dhaka

Bangladesh Nationalist Party standing committee member Salahuddin Ahmed addressed an audience at Dhaka University's TSC auditorium during a book launch ceremony. The publication "From Spark to Wildfire: An Unknown Chapter of Uprising" served as the focal point for the event organized by Adarsha Publication. Ahmed criticized the Awami League for creating artificial divisions between supporters and opponents of independence after 1971. He advocated for national unity based on the anti-fascist movement that emerged during the July 2024 student uprising. The BNP leader emphasized that this unity would serve as the foundation for building a democratic Bangladesh.

Ahmed referenced historical figures and stated that dictators rarely resign through normal processes. He highlighted Abu Sayed's role in Bangladesh's recent history and praised the sacrifice made during the movement. Several notable figures participated as special guests at the event. Managing Director Mahbub Morshed of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha explained how three previous student movements prepared the ground for the 2024 uprising. Publisher Mahabur Rahman delivered opening remarks to welcome attendees.
