Diddy begs judge for mercy ahead of prostitution sentencing

Sean Combs submitted a letter to a federal judge on Thursday requesting leniency before his Friday sentencing on prostitution-related convictions. The 55-year-old rapper took full responsibility for his actions, stating he had no one to blame but himself for his current circumstances. Combs was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering charges following an eight-week trial this summer, but he was convicted of transportation to engage in prostitution and offenses related to drug-fueled encounters with his girlfriends. He also faced convictions for hiring male escorts for events known as freak-offs or hotel nights.

The disgraced music mogul told Judge Arun Subramanian that he had achieved sobriety from drugs and alcohol for the first time in 25 years since his September 2024 arrest. Combs acknowledged that he could see how degraded he had become before his arrest. He expressed remorse for the pain he caused, though he admitted that apologies alone could not undo past harm. The rapper stated he was no longer running from his mistakes.
