Three additional victims died on Monday from injuries sustained during a highway collision near Kikopey on Sunday afternoon, raising fatalities to 16. The crash occurred when a 14-seater matatu attempted to overtake, and collided head-on with a lorry along the Nakuru-Nairobi highway. Thirteen passengers died at the scene, and three others later succumbed at a medical facility. Two children were among those who died after hospitalization.
