Delani Moyo won Tuesday's Zanu PF election in Insiza North. The party ordered new voting after problems during the first contest earlier this month. Moyo received 1,588 votes, against Moses Langa, who earned 1,185. Qhubani Moyo placed third with 837 votes. Fewer people showed up compared to the May 3 voting.
The earlier election faced claims of cheating through extra ballots. Official candidates will register on May 15 for the main election happening June 14. The seat opened when former representative Farai Taruvinga died. Taruvinga had served two terms as a Zanu PF member. The ruling party expects an easy win because opposition groups remain divided.
