Last Minute Mutasa Call Fuels Warriors Buzz

Scottland FC player Nathan Mutasa earned a spot on Zimbabwe Warriors team for the COSAFA Cup tournament. The competition starts June 4 and puts Zimbabwe against South Africa, Mauritius and Mozambique during group stage matches. Officials first left Mutasa off the roster but his club announced his selection through social media posts. Most squad members come from the under-20 national team program. Group A games will test Zimbabwe against strong regional opponents.

Simon Marange coaches the under-20 national squad and will guide the Warriors throughout the tournament. Joel Luphahla from Simba Bhora serves as his assistant during the competition. The coaching staff selected young players to represent Zimbabwe at the regional event. Tournament organizers placed the Warriors against tough competition from southern African nations. South Africa hosts all matches across different venues.

Zimbabwe opens their tournament run against Mauritius on June 4 at Bloemfontein stadium. The Warriors must perform well against Group A rivals to advance past the opening round. Young players will gain valuable experience competing against senior regional teams. Mutasa adds midfield depth to a squad dominated by under-20 talent. The tournament gives Zimbabwe chances to test emerging players before major competitions.
