Myanmar's Rural Development Department threw a workshop at a hotel in Yangon about turning villages into smart hubs across ASEAN countries. Union Minister U Hla Moe talked about how they're trying to upgrade life for the 69 percent of people living outside cities through six main focus areas, like building better roads and giving farmers money to help.
The event featured a video message from an ASEAN deputy secretary and a speech from an ActionAid guy about rethinking how development should work in the region. Representatives from different ASEAN nations jumped into panel discussions that ran through multiple sessions.
