Police Eagle-Ney team arrests two Delta robbery suspects, seizes gun

Police officers caught two men carrying weapons during a traffic stop near Warri. The Eagle-Ney Surveillance Team pulled over a black Toyota Corolla on Otokutu Bridge during regular patrol duties. Officers found Telvin Richmond and Frank Obiorah inside the vehicle on June 18 around midday. The car had registration number RSH 90 RC and attracted police attention during routine checks. Both suspects faced immediate arrest after the discovery.

Search teams found dangerous items hidden inside the car doors. A homemade gun lay concealed alongside two yellow armbands marked with gang symbols. Officers also discovered a battle axe and fake wooden pistol during their examination. The weapons were carefully stored inside door compartments to avoid detection. Police spokesman Bright Edafe confirmed the arrests and evidence recovery.

Investigation revealed both men belong to the Aiye criminal group. One suspect purchased the gun last year for eighty-seven thousand naira from another criminal. That seller remains free and police continue searching for the weapons dealer. The arrested men admitted their gang membership during questioning. Officers believe the group planned robberies using the recovered weapons.

Police hold both suspects as the investigation continues. Authorities want to find other gang members and stop future crimes. The arrest disrupted criminal plans and removed dangerous weapons from the streets. Officials praised the surveillance team for their careful work. Delta State police continue fighting armed robbery through regular patrols.
