Zimbabwe Belarus Join Forces for Real Growth

Zimbabwe and Belarus started their Joint Permanent Commission review today in Harare. Officials will examine progress on agreements covering farming, manufacturing, learning, power, transportation, and investment programs. The meeting will continue until April 16. Foreign Affairs Minister Professor Amon Murwira from Zimbabwe and Mr. Maxim Ryzhenkov from Belarus led the discussions together.

Belarus representative Mr. Yury Nikolaichik praised Zimbabwe for its growth. He noted that cooperation happens at all levels between the countries. He pointed out the successful delivery of equipment through their Agricultural Mechanization program. He mentioned that future work will focus on crop harvesting and storage needs for Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe delegation head Mr. Pearson Chigiji said both nations should build on the friendship between President Mnangagwa and President Lukashenko. He called for strategic talks to create real benefits for both countries. He stressed that agreements must move beyond paper into action. He warned that discussions become meaningless without implementation. He encouraged looking at any additional areas where both nations can help each other.
