The Subject of Ghostwriters in Zimbabwe's Zimdaansaal Myuuzik

My short answer is: Ghostwriters aren't a big deal in Zimbabwe's Zimdancehall music.

Long answer is: I am saying this because from what I have picked up it appears to me as if you are asking 'are ghostwriters bad' and in the case of Zimbabwe's Zimdancehall music, I don't think there is any stigma or loss of integrity attached to artists who may use services of ghostwriters.

My answer is also supported from the basis that there is a huge cultural difference between Zim Hip Hop music and Zimdancehall music.

Hence, your question of ghostwriters being ethical is more suitable in the case of Zim Hip Hop since it is the genre of music in Zimbabwe which most the time follows standards of American Rap music although there are...

We are very aware of music artists in Zimbabwe who don't write their own Zimdancehall songs.

Even educated music listeners who are familiar with songwriting and Zimdancehall music production they know this.

But do other average listeners really care about ghostwritten Zimdancehall songs? I don't think so!

What they care most about is the song itself and whether it has a meaningful message or worst-case scenario if it's garbage material they won't bother to ponder about its existence ever again. :ROFLMAO:

Okay, so do ghostwriters get credit if they write a Zimdancehall song for a particular recording artist?

Generally speaking, a ghostwriter shouldn't be found in the songwriting credits because if he has been credited for songwriting a Zimdancehall song, he is no longer a ghostwriter.

Instead, he is now a normal songwriter like anybody else who writes songs.

In summary just remember if someone is a genuine ghostwriter, that person shouldn't be credited at all.

What about the issue of music publishing in Zimbabwe. Do ghostwriters get royalties?

The music business in Zimbabwe basically needs serious attention in the way it's handled and carried out.

Because if we really look into it even music producers whether they are Zimdancehall or Zim Hip Hop music producers they are often left out from music publishing royalties.

So eventually a ghostwriter will actually be last in terms of financial remuneration for services rendered.

Zimdancehall music fans in Zimbabwe don't put any attention to detail about songwriting credits.

They have this mentality whereby they automatically think whoever is the Zimdancehall artist singing the song he is likewise the person who literary wrote the song itself.

In reality, this might not even be the case. However, the show goes on. So that's that.
