Police in Bono Region arrested a 25-year-old man after finding stolen vehicles and suspected drugs at his home near Chiraa. Officers took Evans Ameyaw into custody on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2025, following reports about criminals selling motorcycles and tricycles in Wenchi Municipality.
Investigators recovered four motorcycles, two tricycles, and seven packages of plant material believed to be cannabis from his residence at Buoko. The suspect told officers he worked with others to commit the thefts. Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah said authorities secured all items as evidence and are searching for additional gang members.
Ameyaw remains detained while helping police locate the vehicle owners. Officials plan to charge him after completing their investigation into the criminal operation.
