Thomas Partey scoops third Ghana Player of Year gong

Thomas Partey won Player of the Year at the Ghana Football Awards Saturday night. The Arsenal midfielder beat other top players for the honor at the Grand Arena. Officials held the seventh annual ceremony at the Accra International Conference Centre. Partey earned recognition after playing great football for his club team. The 32-year-old star helped Arsenal reach important matches during the season.

Arsenal came close to winning the Premier League title with Partey leading their midfield. The team also made it to the Champions League semifinals with his strong play. Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth competed against Partey for the award. Inaki Williams of Athletic Bilbao also wanted the top prize. Partey defeated both players to claim his third career victory.

The midfielder previously won the same award twice before during his career. He took home the honor back during 2018 and again during 2019. Partey continues representing Ghana on the international stage as well. His club performances helped him stand out among other African players. The ceremony recognized his efforts both at Arsenal and with the Black Stars.
