Are upcoming Zim independent artists still reaching out to influential Zim hip-hop blogs for reviews and promos or modern-day marketing is now all about social media e.g., Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and etc?
Smart artists always work with bloggers and social media influencers primarily for the following reasons:
To increase brand awareness by gaining more followers and also more potential customers for merchandise, not just music.
Being a social media topic re-enforces relevancy otherwise people might forget the artist still exists because many people literary suffer from a short attention span.
Finally, to increase traffic to DSPs: this one is self-explanatory i.e., Spotify, Apple, Amazon, YouTube Music, etc.
However, as @Scorpio said, I agree with the fact modern-day blogging has moved from the need of running a self-hosted WordPress or Drupal site. It is now all about social media pages and getting sponsorship...
Blogs will always remain relevant, especially to new recording artists who are just getting started out because no one has probably heard of them e.g., their background story, vision, and most importantly their sound.
In a nutshell, most bloggers are now focusing more on social media content e.g. Instagram paid posts and of course, sponsored Tweets. Even other Zim celebrity gossip blogs are doing the same thing.
The downside for slow old school bloggers is that an average person now expects to find all the latest stories, new music, etc on Instagram without the need of heading over to the actual website.

Hell, many Zim social media influencers don't even have official websites either -- just an email and a bank account.
@Black Panther Word life, social media blogs have now replaced Drupal or WP blogs. What I have also noticed is the tendency of Zim hip-hop artists to comment on various popular and trending latest Zimbabwe celebrity news.
The idea behind this is to bait people to click on their profiles which subsequently results in more traffic to their social media pages. Moreover, they might actually gain more followers doing just that.
Are you saying some Zim hip-hop artists comment on IG posts not because they are into the topic at hand but as a means to divert attention to themselves? Isn't it better to just create more content on social media instead of going around dropping comments?

Yeah, the thing is that the process of constantly dropping comments on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube is a much easier social media growth strategy.
The reason being high-quality content creation often involves coming out of pocket to pay advertising agencies, photographers, video editors, etc. But if one goes around on social media dropping positive contextual comments this will improve brand visibility too.
Zimbo rap blogs may still be relevant, as they provide a platform for the promotion and discussion of local hip-hop music and culture. But, the level of relevance can vary depending on factors such as the content being produced and the level of engagement from the audience.
As for the thoughts of chatbots like ChatGPT and Google's Bard potentially replacing bloggers, the answer is a resounding no. Because although these AI chatbots possess the ability to deliver information at lightning speed and execute specific tasks, they lack the creative flair, subtlety, and personal touch that bloggers bring to the table.
Human bloggers offer a unique perspective and share their own experiences and opinions on a variety of subjects, something that a chatbot cannot easily mimic. Furthermore, while chatbots are engineered to furnish information and respond to questions often about old stuff, bloggers on the hand provide fresh new content and a more comprehensive examination of a trend.
Don't forget 'bout the power of social media and community building. If one can build a strong following on platforms like Instagram or TikTok, one can drive traffic to their blog that way too.
